Palacio de Navarra / Diputación (Av. Carlos III, 1/Plaza del Castillo, Pamplona) – this Neoclassic palace dates back to the middle of the 19th century. It is now the headquarters for the Navarran government. The altarpiece in the chapel and the gardens are interesting. It also has a painting of Fernando VII by Goya, and a large tapestry depicting the great battle of Navas of Tolosa (1212). One of the palace’s facades looks out onto the Monumento de los Fueros (Charter Monument) in the Paseo de Sarasate, and the other onto Avenida Carlos III and the Plaza del Castillo, the main square of the city.
